I was playing "Combat Flight Simulator 1 & 2" a few years ago. Wasn't too bad of a game. Although I didn't play it online a whole lot. Maybe if there was a few friends that were interested in playing, and you had your own server where just these "friends" could join, it wouldn't be too bad. But I know when anyone could join, there were guys that could fly at the speed of light and a whole bunch of other cheats

OK, here goes..... First thing you need is M/Soft Flight Simulator 2004, from there, you join the "Royal Air Force virtual" (dont worry we have Yanks, Canadians, Aussies, Germans and quite a few from the Middle East). When you join you will be given instructions on the (free) downloads you need. My first aircraft was the Firefly and I was based at RAF Cranwell, the Firefly is a Bulldog, but in military livery and some military equipment, I was taught to use the Autopilot and how to make ILS landings. Once I did my checkflight, I then proceeded onto the Tucano and changed base to RAF Linton-on-Ouse, which is where I am now, learning to fly aerobatics. After this I will go onto the BAE Hawk at RAF Valley and learn combat manouvers. I will then end up on the Eurofighter Typhoon at RAF Coningsby. After being familiarised with the aircraft I will be doing sorties all over the world. Some of these sorties include; bombing air bases and dogfighting. If I am sent to an airbase on the other side of the world, I will have to fly there and refuel the aircraft on the way, which may take upto 10-15 hours. [We are not allowed to 'transport' ourselves or the aircraft around bases] This is a very serious Sim community. We even have engineering squadrons. If I ever encounter any problem, there are experts available to help me sort it out. Being ex RAF, I can vouch that this is a very realistic envirioment. The aircraft and the airbases are accurate to the finest detail. www.youtube.com/watch?v=lat26tUoTTkHave FUN Guys Nick 'Plt Off, Nick Howells'

Why is it that they want you to have MS Flight Simulator 2004 and not 2007?

The RAFv was set up a few years ago, it was using the latest M/Soft Flight Sim at the time, FS2004. The guys then designed their own RAF base airfields scenery and aircraft. If you join you will have access to these. When FSx was released the guys found that their self designed scenery & aircraft was not compatible with FSx. So the RAFv decided to continue to use FS2004. They are in the process of updating their 'extras' at the moment. But because of the amount of 'extras' it will take a while, there are about 60-70 airfields in the download library! So MM are you gonna sign up? Nick

Not to sound like a smartass here or anything, but if you downloaded the game, wouldn't that mean you now "have" the game? That's all I did was found an ISO of the game from one of my resources ;D By the way Wolf, checked out that LOMAC you mention and just downloaded an ISO of it to give it a try
